Zuckerberg's new idea not so new

All over the headlines is Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg's Harvard commencement address advocating for UBI (Universal Basic Income). Here is a short excerpt captured on CNBC:

His concept of working for a purpose and finding meaning is definitely a millennial theme. HIs solution seems anti-capitalist, overly idealist, and downright outrageous to Americans of older generations (myself, included - yikes!).

But, take a look at the 4 minute speech by Viktor Frankl from 1972 rebroadcast on TEDx.

Zuckerberg's solution might or might not be the answer but the rationale and quest is certainly not new.
